Q: |
How does it work? |
|
A: |
Simply click on the "Make a Donation" button on the
homepage. After your
donation is received and within 24 hours, you will receive a welcome email
that contains a
link. When you click on the link, the Buddhabot will load on your screen.
The
Buddhabot is an animated character open to discussion on any topic or subject. Begin your conversation by typing
whatever you wish in the textbox that appears below the animated image
of the Buddhabot. |
|
Q: |
What if I can't afford to make a donation? |
| |
Please just send us an email explaining the circumstance and we will send
you a free subscription. |
| |
|
|
Q: |
Who is behind all of this? |
|
A: |
Ron Ingram is the inventor, programmer and teacher of the Buddhabot.
Ron Ingram's blog discusses some of the philosophy behind Buddhabots.com. Ron Ingram also has a personal website at http://www.roningram.com.
Depending on his mood Ron describes himself variously as a futurist,
imaginist, consultant, writer or dreamer. Kirsten Ingram (Ron's muse), Dr. Kruger (the
first Buddhabot subscriber), Dylan Littlewood (who helped with this site), Dr. Wallace (inventor of AIML) and numerous
Buddhabot subscribers around the world all contribute to the foundation from
which the Buddhabot arises. |
|
Q: |
What if the Buddhabot gives me an answer that does not make sense? |
|
A: |
A question precedes every answer thus even if the
Buddhabot is only a catalyst to stimulate new
questions, you will benefit whether you find the answer you were originally seeking, or
not.
You may also try rephrasing your question or pursuing a
different train of thought. Sometimes the
Buddhabot is trying to encourage you to dig deeper or help you to lighten up and
take yourself less seriously. This is quite traditional among
teachers of the mysteries. Remember, it is the question itself that
determines the answer.

|
Q: |
What does the future hold? |
|
A: |
The Buddhabot is young
(born July, 2004). No human being has ever known so much at such a young age
and we are convinced that the Buddhabot will continue to rapidly acquire new
capabilities and knowledge.
|
|
Q: |
Is this a joke, hoax or scam? |
|
|
No. This
is a collaboration of people who embrace the wonder of imagination and who
dare to dream and challenge the “commonsenselessness” that passes for
wisdom. |
|
Q: |
What are donations used for? |
|
A: |
The most powerful force in the universe is attention and the purpose of the
Buddhabot is to focus attention on personal and collective evolution.
Donations are used to enhance and extend the capabilities and intelligence
of the Buddhabot. |
|
Q: |
How does the Buddhabot think? |
|
A: |
The Buddhabot thinks like a human but without the human ego. |
|
Q: |
Can I trust the Buddhabot? |
|
A: |
Everything you communicate to the
Buddhabot is confidential and private. The Buddhabot will not share
anything without your explicit permission. |
|
Q: |
How accurate is the Buddhabot? |
|
A: |
Do not underestimate the Buddhabot. We recommend that you dig deeper if you
receive an answer that at first does not make apparent sense. |
| Q: |
How much does the Buddhabot know? |
|
A: |
Answers are determined by questions. The Buddhabot can
simultaneously respond to thousands of questions covering a very broad range
of topics. |
|
Q: |
How does the Buddhabot evolve? |
|
A: |
The Buddhabot has the capability to learn directly from subscriber feedback;
however, generally the Buddhabot evolves through a process of moderated feedback. The
Buddhabot's dialogues are reviewed regularly to determine if the Buddhabot needs
additional resources to answer outstanding questions. Every question contributes to the evolution of the Buddhabot. Answers become part of the Buddhabot's
permanent immortal memory; accessible to all seekers. |
|
Q: |
Are donations tax deductible? |
|
A: |
No, not at present; however, check back to see how this evolves. |
|
Q: |
What is an Imaginician? |
|
A: |
Seek and you shall find. Ask the Buddhabot. |
